Frequently Asked Questions

1)  What is Life Coaching?

Life coaching is a discipline designed to help people set and achieve life goals, learn skills to manage life challenges and explore the strengths and weaknesses that help or hinder success. Coaching may address career and work issues, life planning, health and wellness, relationships and family issues, and overcoming social fears and stress.

2) What can I expect?

No matter the issue being worked on, you should expect that a Life Coach is not there to just hear you out, validate your feelings, empathize with you, and psychologically hold your hand. A coach is there to challenge you, question your choices and self-analysis, help you to learn your strengths and weaknesses, and teach you how to properly problem solve. A good coach motivates you while holding you accountable for your choices.

3)  What is the difference between a Life Coach and a Therapist?

As a Life Coach, I will not diagnose or treat mental health issues. Life Coaching is not therapy. However, learning skills to navigate life's challenges will improve your psychological well-being and challenge you to make good decisions, resolve conflicts and attain desired goals.

4)  What is Leadership Coaching?

A Coach who is experienced in Executive Leadership can guide you through the skills needed to succeed in the challenges faced in management, career choices, entrepreneurship, corporate structures and supervision of staff. Mentoring is provided for specific challenges one faces in the work environment including staff training, dealing with problematic management, boards, and staff.

5) Why schedule multiple sessions?

Making a commitment to work on issues that will improve your life is an important step. You are hiring a coach to work with you and for you. It will take time to guide you through the steps of analyzing your situation(s), formulating strategies, testing strategies, and learning to be independent of the coaching.

6) Why on-line coaching instead of in-person?

On-line sessions are still face to face but provide convenience as there is no travel time to and from appointments. Your location is not an issue and you can have more availability of hours for appointments. I am located in Wyoming which means I can see more people in before or after work hours, depending on your location.
